Pattern mainly means a repetition of a particular design or template. A pattern is usually one shape taken and then repeated over and over. Most patterns are in an organized grid like layout.
Texture
Texture is a term referring to the surface quality of objects. Textures can be anywhere from a smooth surface to a rough or rocky appearance. There are Different types of texture, like Tactile Texture and Implied Texture.

Tactile Texture is when you can literally feel the texture of the media.
Implied Texture is when the media looks as it should feel a certain way but if you were to touch it it would be smooth.
