A line has no dimensions, it is usually a point from A to B or it can go on forever in motion.

 Types of Line
There are many different types of line, these different types are used in many different ways to achieve different ideas and goals. one example is a cross-hatch style line, this is many different lines all criss-crossed to create a form or shading on an object or shape.

Line Direction
A lines direction should always help imply what it is trying to accomplish. A horizontal line shows a quiet and still feeling, most likely because we associate a horizontal body with sleep. A vertical line, such as a standing person, has more potential of activity, but the diagonal line strongly suggests motion and movement.
